I'd get him to see if a factory reset of the router would fix the issue but I don't want to get him to do that because he cant find the broadband connection details and we might need them to connect to the internet after the reset. We get replies when we ping the routers address over both Wi-Fi and Cable connections. We've used both Wi-Fi and Wired connections to the router. We checked with ipconfig and have the correct IP address (192.168.1.254) of the router which is a Technicolor TG799vn and we've tried both a DHCP and Static IP address on my friends Windows 10 PC. Both browsers try to connect and either say 'connecting to' 192.168.1.254 or 'waiting for' 192.168.1.254 but it never connects/loads the routers page. I'd like to log on to his router to check the UPnP setting but for some reason Internet Explorer and Chrome will not connect to the routers configuration page. Some people have said to check if UPnP is enabled on the router or not. I just want to try a different router to see if that is the actual issue.A friend and I are trying to play Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands CO-OP on PC and we have a problem connecting to each other.Īpparently the reason we cannot connect is because something called the 'NAT status' is set to strict. I don't want to spend a ton of money, I don't really need anything fancy, I don't think. I've been through the router settings, assigned static IP to all the devices, messed with game mode, firewall, other settings. I use Ethernet into both my PC and PS4, everything else (phones, Kindle, Sonos are on wifi) Then I played some Destiny 2 and had 2 more disconnects. I asked her today if she takes pics when she's out, she said yes, I checked her phone and she had Samsung Cloud on upload when on wifi so I turned that off. I noticed that I have pretty much guaranteed connection issues when my housemate comes in. I get lag spikes in Overwatch too, BDO keeps disconnecting when AFK, the list is long. Today I've been playing Destiny 2 and the game disconnected countless times. I'm getting just short of 14mb/sec down which is pretty good on ADSL (no fibre where I live). Sometimes I can't even watch YouTube videos without the thing buffering like mad, then it suddenly all goes back to normal. The issue I'm having that while the speeds are good when everything is working, I'm having games disconnect all the time. So, currently using Utility Warehouse broadband, the landlord had it installed because it's cheap, I guess.
